Fraser Gutteridge began his musical career in middle school as a clarinet player.
During this time he acquired an interest in classical music. Before high school
he played with the SFA wind ensemble and was the first chair of the 1998
Delaware Honor Band. He picked up his first pair of drumsticks at the age of 11,
playing drums and clarinet jointly until the age of 18, when he decided to focus
solely on drums.
Fraser's debut as a drummer was for the SFA jazz ensemble's performance of
William Handy's "St. Louis Blues" at the age of 14. Shortly aftewards he was
hired as the new drummer for classic rock cover band "The Geezers" in
Pennsylvania. He stayed with the Geezers until the summer of 2000, when he
joined "Fear of .Z.E.R.O.," a punk band from Wilmington, Delaware. It was here
that he met fellow bandmate Matt Williams. Fraser stayed with Fear of .Z.E.R.O.
until its breakup in March of 2004, also continuing to stand in occasionally
when the Geezers needed a replacement. From 2004 to 2006, he spent much of his time playing for a jazz band in Philadelphia, PA and also engineering several
local rock shows and a theatrical production of "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" by
the University of Delaware's E52. In August of 2006, he was asked to join
"Everything's Free" and accepted.
Fraser Gutteridge has now been playing drums in the tri-state area for nearly 12
years. He also became interested in audio engineering and track mastering during
his time with Fear of .Z.E.R.O. and has since engineered various productions and
recorded several artists in the Delaware Valley. His musical compositions to
date have been few: only two of his songs have ever been recorded("Mr. Owns" in
2003 and "AAMM" in 2004, respectively), but he hopes to increase his writing in Everything's Free.
