Alan's music career spans his whole life, even pre-birth. With both parents professional
musicians and music educators trained in; jazz, classical, Broadway, and more, music is
deeply engrained in his blood and soul. He began with piano lessons early but soon found
guitar and trombone. From 4th grade through two and a half years of college, Alan played
trombone in jazz bands, symphonic bands, and pit orchestras, but started to concentrate
more on guitar around 10th grade. In 11th grade he joined a Newark-based punk band, Killinger
Ave., where he expanded his songwriting.
A year earlier, during a school band project the first glimpse of what would come showed
itself when Alan and EF singer Tim Lund arranged a piece which included a staple gun, hammer
on burlap bag of glass and other "non conventional" instruments. After the split of K.A. he
formed a punk-ska-communist-fusion band called SKAsmonauts. Although the SKAsmonauts were short lived, he learned much about being in a band. Years later during a semi-serious discussion
about starting a Christian-rock band to make money, Tim and Alan became serious about starting
a band. Soon the original line up of Everything's Free was born. Alan hopes to have artistic and
musical success with the group and to entertain all who listen.
